SALES PROCESSES & ADOPTION POLICY
If you are unsure of any points listed below, feel free to ask for clarification.
Under no circumstances will we adopt a rat to a minor under the age of 18 without full consent from a parent or guardian. If the minor fails to provide care for the rodent such responsibility shall fall upon the parent or guardian.
Prices are non-negotiable. Only approved breeders may request trades.
I do not breed to order. I breed for my own personal goals and usually will not to cater to others. However, you are able to ask for certain pairings to happen but I cannot guarentee it possible. My lines are being bred for their improvement overall.
I operate as a closed rattery. Photos are offered of the rattery and all animals that are available for adoption. This means I do not allow people to visit, no matter who you are. This is to protect my rats, home, and my family.
Pick-ups are planned ahead of time. Arrive on time, if not early for your pick-up. I cannot wait longer than 15 minutes. Please be respectful; if you are running behind contact me. I may be able to wait or meet closer to you. I reserve the right to make time/date adjustments as I have close family and there may be emergencies.
You must bring your own carrier. If you have a long distance to travel, please make sure your carrier is not paper based. There are times where I may have boxes for you to bring your new rats home in, please ask if you do not have a carrier.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the purchase will be required to reserve or hold rats that cannot be picked up immediately. A deposit will only refunded if I need to back out of the sale, for any reason. Adoption fees must be paid in full at pick-up with currency or prior through Paypal. The adoption price of the rat(s) will be decided prior to reservation. Deposits are accepted only by Paypal or Western Union.
*We do not accept cash deposits from new adopters.
Once you are notified that your reserved rats are available for pick-up, you have one (1) week to schedule or you will forfeit your deposit and your rat may be placed elsewhere. It is the responsibility of the adopter to make transportation arrangements for the pickup of their reserved rats.
It is the adopter’s responsibility to provide ALL of the rats their needs once they leave Silvermoon Rattery. This includes, but is not limited to; suitable housing, appropriate food, fresh water, appropriate bedding & ANY medical care.
You must be COMPLETELY honest when filling out an adoption or breeder application, or you may be refused sale.
If the adopter can no longer care for their animal you MUST notify us. It is the responsibility of the adopter/owner to arrange transportation of the rat back to our rattery. In special circumstances transportation will be arranged with the adopter. If for any reason I am unable to retrieve the SMR rat myself, the previous adopter must provide valid contact information and forward the terms of sale for the rat(s) in question to the possible new owner(s).
I do not take in rescues of any kind. Please contact a local rescue in case lf these situations.
Please notify us if your animal passes or suffers from any genetic complications. It is essential to note and monitor our lines. We use this information to better future generations. You may be entitled to replacement.
All rats are adopted under a no breeding contract unless express permission is given. If you have bred the rats you adopted you have broken the contact and must return the rats you obtained from Silvermoon Rattery.
We have the right to refuse the adoption of a rat (or rats) at our discretion. We are not obliged to give reason for a refusal.
Silvermoon Rattery is entitled to modify this policy at any time.
By adopting a rat(s) from Silvermoon Rattery, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the adoption policy stated above.
